Smoothies with Sami

II’m curious, what comes to mind when you think of smoothie? To me, it’s second nature to automatically think of a blended post exercise or meal replacement packed with the most healthful supplements I can add without overloading my body.

But as in most things, this doesn’t apply to everyone and I can cherish the moments I get to educate people like you on what goes into these “shakes” you see online and why it’s beneficial.

But as in most things, this doesn’t apply to everyone and I can cherish the moments I get to educate people like you on what goes into these “shakes” you see online and why it’s beneficial.

Today I’m featuring Everlast Nutrition and their Vegan Protein, a plant-based protein made with high-quality Yellow Pea, Rice, and Hemp proteins and a full BCAA (branch chain amino acids) profile. It’s designed to increase muscle recovery for active bodies and fatigued muscles.

Everlast Nutrition is an extension of the preeminent boxing brand that has been established since 1910. I support their efforts and I can assure you this is not just another sponsored write-up.

Incorporating smoothies in your daily routine are important for the following reasons:

  • First and foremost – they are as convenient as meals can get! Especially if you plan ahead with prepping. (click here to read my 7 Helpful Smoothie Organizing Tips blog)
  • Secondly, it enables us to fill our bodies with the daily vitamins and mineral count that we need, and often times don’t get just by food consumption. (Let’s be real, how often do you accidentally skip a meal from being busy? That’s even more of a reason for you to smoothie!)
  • Healthier weight loss – Think of it like cleansing your body. I think overall we as a nation are becoming more aware of what is in our foods as for chemicals and additives go, but there’s still a ginormous amount of people who are eating processed / inorganic / GMO filled greasy fast foods. When you smoothie, you cut all of that toxicity out. Thus, losing fat loss and increasing nutrient levels.
  • Improved digestion – In a smoothie, your food is already broken down allowing your digestive system to be at ease. That alone is worth incorporating smoothies (IMO).
  • Your skin will glow – certain foods radiate our complexion, strengthen our hair, nails, teeth, eyes, and purify blood. Who wouldn’t want that?
  • Heightened mental clarity, better moods, less brain and head fog.

I could go on, but let’s get this smoothie on the road! Who wants a recipe? I crafted one just for you. Free to use, print, pin, and hang up on your fridge next to your niece’s photo.

  • Thanks Enricoh! Much appreciated.

  • Omg, always! ^_^ NEver eat a smoothie without protein powder in it … it’s literally useless and you’re ending up filling your body with sugar. Unless of course it’s a cold pressed juice, but at that point it’s not considered a smoothie. juicing takes the fiber out of the drink – which our bodies need. I have several other protein recommendations if you need one ^_^ thanks for stopping by!

  • Thank you delaine! Its important to me to make these articles informative, so thank you I appreciate you taking notice to that.

  • thanks!!! definitely give it a try!

  • Are you a fan of beets at all?

  • my pleasure 🙂

  • Hi Kelly! Thanks for stopping by. Drinking a smoothie before hand is not doing you any favors. Afterwards is key of course but before hand … eat/drink as little as possible so your body is burning the fat content in the body already, rather than what you just drank or ate. See how that works for you. If its cardio, try a fasted cardio by eating 2 eggs of pure protein. If its a workout, even a HIIT – try a banana and some water.

  • agreed!! you know whats up!
